A Fourth of July toast to Bob Dylan and Woody Guthrie

h/t to Arthur for this piece from Newsweek on Bob Dylan's generation problem:

"He's got an awful voice and stage fright and he's trying to balance a guitar and a harmonica,'' says Roger DuBois, 22, a music graduate student at Columbia University. "I just don't relate to that kind of music very much.''

Congratulations, Roger -- you GOT it!

Bob Dylan isn't cool.

Neither was Woody Guthrie.

Woodrow Wilson Guthrie was born July 14, 1912, in Okemah, Oklahoma. He died in Brooklyn State Hospital in 1967 of Huntington's chorea. Click here for a video of Woody singing "This Land Is Your Land"

Here's to anyone who's ever been booed off of a stage.

Happy Fourth of July, everyone!
